Can a boiler produce steam from cork?

It is possible for a boiler to produce steam from cork. Attsu has a steam boiler model (the CSPM-1000/12) that is specially designed to provide 1,000 kg/h of steam at a pressure of 12 bar from the combustion of cork and its derivatives. The same wastes coming from the manufacturing process of this material are used to produce the necessary heat required in this type of industry.

The resulting steam is dry and of high purity, and its objective is the preparation, drying and sterilisation of cork stoppers. With the use of this type of boiler, carbon generation is minimal, and fuel savings can reach 215,000 litres in one year.
