How is the Ecodesign applied to industrial steam boilers?

As a result of the application of the European Ecodesign Directive (Directive 2009/125/EC), manufacturers of either domestic or  industrial appliances that consume energy in the European Union (EU) must comply with design standards and manufacturing materials aimed at ensuring that their products reduce their energy consumption levels, their polluting emissions and their waste at the end of their useful life.

Because industrial steam boilers are designed and manufactured according to the client's needs and requirements, it is more difficult to apply standardised Ecodesign rules, but the applicable aspects of the Ecodesign have been studied for some general heat supply devices: boilers, water heaters and industrial furnaces.

ATTSU is one of the 30 companies and associations consulted by the European Union from the outset when collecting information for the preparation and application of the Ecodesign Directive.
